Today -and to close the penultimate month of the year- we present the web series Mamones, a fiction directed, starring and written by the influencer Francesc Morales, which will be available until next Tuesday, December 1.
In 2016 it premiered the first season with great success, achieving more than a million views between Facebook and YouTube, in addition to being featured in "I am Homosensual", the most read gay site in Latin America. Each episode of Mamones is a unitary story and they are starred by Morales, who in each of the episodes plays a different character despite using the same name. This ingenious and original web series mixes important topics of sexual diversity with comedy and irony.
What is Mamones about?
Mamones was born from Francesc’s concern in bringing gay topics to fiction, in an experiential story that mixes drama with humor and national contingency. "In Mamones we make a comedy with a youthful tone that touches important topics and issues. It is said to be the first fiction where the gay community laughs at itself and tells gay stories for gays. Its stories are so funny that a lot of its audience happens to be heterosexual as well. These are fictions brought up by real stories that can happen to anyone, and starring real people playing themselves. They are not asking if they are gay or not, but struggling to be happy with positivism and energy, "says Morales.
The eight episodes of this web series have a high number of views on YouTube, a popularity that will turn Mamones into a story taken to the big screen and that will continue its shooting when the pandemic ends.
We invite you to watch the episode titled "Britney Spears Vogue Battle" and "Surprise with Kassandra Romanin", the latter focused on the complications of the protagonist getting romantically involved with a transformist.
