This afternoon the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival gave a voice to the directors of the winning films of the 46th edition with the celebration of a virtual press conference in which Nicol Ruiz, winner of the Silver Colón for Best Direction for The ship of oblivion '(Chile); Ezequiel Radusky, director of Planta Permanente (Argentina-Uruguay), the film that won the Golden Colón for Best Feature Film and the Silver Colón for Best Actress (Liliana Juárez); and Hernán Zin, director of the film 2020 (Spain), deserving of a Special Mention from the Jury and the Audience Award.
Nicol Ruiz says she is “very happy, proud and grateful” to receive the Silver Colón for Best Director. The Chilean filmmaker explained that The Ship of Forgetfulness has been "a long-term film, a process in which many people put their talent, energy and love into it." Ruiz expressed her gratitude to the entire team and to the spectators. "It is wonderful that we do not forget that culture connects us, makes us communicate, finding people who feel this message as their own makes me feel proud," she said.
The director of The Ship of Forgetfulness has considered that the reception of the film shows that "culture cannot be forgotten." Sometimes “we forget that culture unites us and this award has made me feel that we are connected, that we can understand each other, the claudinas of the world are not alone, every day they kill us, assault us, rape us, insult us but here we are, we can move forward and generate community because things are going to change ”, she assured, adding that“ 2020 is an invitation to look within and continue connecting with each other ”.
In the Official Section of Feature Films, a total of twelve films have competed in this 46th edition.
The winning films of the official awards of the Ibero-American Film Festival of Huelva will be re-programmed from 8:00 p.m. on the Filmin platform and the OTT Huelva platform. During the 46th edition of the festival, which was held between November 13 and 20 in an entirely online format, a total of 59 productions from a score of nationalities were broadcast that summarize the best of Ibero-American film production of the last year through the Filmin and OTT Huelva platforms.
